An international campaign against whaling has been launched by 140 associations in 55 countries. 1400 cetaceans are killed every year by Norwegian, Japanese and Icelandic fishermen (the latter two for “scientific purposes”). These associations denounce the cruelty of the explosive harpoons used in whaling.
