Description
POSITION IN THE SPREAD : Long rigger or Stinger (Shotgun) positions are ideal.
IDEAL LURE LEADER LENGTH : This is a personal preference with some people using ~6’ (2m) but the Malolo Team having great success with ~12’ (4m).
BEST LURE : Any lure will work behind a Hawaiian Malolo Bird Teaser but when you factor in the best trolling positions, 6-9” skirted bullet head style lures are ideal. The bird provides more action and attractiveness to the straight running lures (easy to eat!) in the back of the lure pattern.
Malolo Birds provide more tension on the line to keep the long lures from crossing over other lines on windy days while trolling perpendicular to the wind.
Malolo Birds allow you to easily see and set your long lures. You won’t have to free spool your lure then reel in quickly to make it skip to see where it is. Clip on a bird and have easy visuals on your lure positioning.
