Sea fishing is by far the most demanding practice when it comes to fishing equipment and materials.
So how about a reel with a unique coating that can withstand 500 hours under a saltwater spray in our tests? That's what our new SGS8 reel is all about, and it's called SW500.
To perfect its phenomenal resistance to salinity, we chose steel ball bearings (9+1), as well as its brake system (also waterproof), a light and solid aluminum frame and a composite rotor but reinforced with carbon.
But resistance to corosion is far from being the only quality of this reel. As it is equipped with our Friction Control System 3, which houses three layers of discs (one in fiberglass, the other in carbon fiber on each side), each disc, due to its rigidity, ensures a constant pressure which translates into a always powerful and fluid brake, capable of stopping most fish.
The life of the brake is doubled by the possibility, after a few years, to turn the discs over in order to make their obverse work. Your drag system will be as good as new!
